Material pro­cure­ment and ca­pa­bil­ity

WorkingMouse has been work­ing closely with the Department of Defence to mi­grate a num­ber of sys­tems to the cloud.

Initially, the scope of the pro­ject cov­ered the Department’s non ma­te­r­ial pro­cure­ment track­ing but has since ex­panded to cover ma­te­r­ial pro­cure­ment and other ar­eas of the ca­pa­bil­ity ac­qui­si­tion and sus­tain­ment group (CASG).

Moving to a shared ser­vices model meant that there were a num­ber of tran­si­tion chal­lenges NMP needed to over­come.

One such chal­lenge was the mul­ti­ple dis­parate pro­cure­ment data­bases and Excel spread­sheets that, due to the tran­si­tion, were in use across NMP to track and sup­port Defence pro­cure­ments.

To date, the Defence part­ner­ship with WorkingMouse has de­liv­ered more than the con­sol­i­da­tion of pro­cure­ment ac­tiv­ity.

The Tracker is used across CASG to en­able the pro­gres­sion of the Supplier Reporting Capability (SRC), a re­port­ing layer that sits over the top of cor­po­rate con­tract and ex­pen­di­ture data and CASG Commercial Division’s key in­for­ma­tion prod­ucts.

Given the length of the en­gage­ment, a lot has been built. We broke it down into a de­tailed time­line in­fo­graphic be­low.
